Brossage
Description
- The brossage - or finition brossée - (brushing - or brushed finish –) results in a leather-like texture.
- It can be done on flat and uneven surfaces.
- The brossage is done “dry” without running water.
- It is carried out when the plaster has hardened considerably (past the point where it can be cut with the berthelet).
- Brush forcefully with a hard bristle scrub brush until the surface begin to become to resemble rind or leather.
- An additional brossage can be done the following day to further smoothen the surface.
- If the brossage leaves distinct imprints of the bristles, stop and wait for further hardening before continuing.
- Important : do not wet either the plaster, or the brush.
